Matthias T. J. Grimme aka Drachenmann My first bondage experiences dates back more than 20 years. However, at that time it had nothing to do with art. Later on, while in Amsterdam, I stumbled upon a magazine about Japanese bondage. I was fascinated. In the late nineties, while doing research for a book project, I noticed a general lack of good Japanese bondage sources. This in turn made me start on my first journey to Tokyo, where I had the opportunity to meet and watch several renowned rope artists, including Osada Eikichi, Akechi Denki, and Chiba Eizoh. My subsequent trips to Tokyo helped to deepen my knowledge and understanding about Japanese bondage. In 2000 I started www.japanbondage.de with photos I took in Tokyo. To date, after several hundred bondage sessions with different subs and dozens of live performances the site offers an abundance of material for those interested in kinbaku. My latest project is the Shibari Network that aims at being a forum for shibari enthusiasts and which will facilitate closer contacts between Japanese rope artists and other bondage practitioners worldwide. Enjoy. Matthias drachenmann@yahoo.com |
